About The Toyota Car Control Challenge

Welcome to the most exciting and ambitious initiative in TEEN DRIVER SAFETY—the crowning of the GRAND CHAMPION YOUNG DRIVERS of the USA. Yes, we’re going to test, evaluate and score competition between young drivers in 4 age/sex categories plus a surprise! -A MOM and DAD- and reward the Champions with major prizes. Like what? Like a $10,000 4-year COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP and a BRAND NEW TOYOTA.

 

The first pilot test of this stupendous TOYOTA CAR CONTROL CHALLENGE starts April 1, 2008 right here in Cincinnati, Ohio and Northern Kentucky. So you better start now to brush up on your ATTITUDE, your driving KNOWLEDGE, and your CAR CONTROL SKILLS, because to win prizes like these you better be AWESOME!

WHO

Advanced Car Control Techniques, a division of Auto Testers, Inc and the largest hands-on, in-car young driver training organization in America, training over 25,000 young drivers and parents in crash avoidance techniques and skills has teamed up with Toyota Motor Sales USA, the Cincinnati Northern Kentucky Toyota Dealers, The Cincinnati Teen Drivers Fund and The Teen Driver Safety Foundation to launch this program in Cincinnati.

WHAT

SEVEN CHAMPIONSHIPS in four regions of the tri-state area East, West, North and South. Plus prizes for regional winners, competition between high schools for their own regional championship and grand championship and of course the AREA Champions in the run-offs between the regional champions at a big attraction in September. And a TV documentary.

HOW

Competitors will be tested and graded in three aspects of crash free driving:

 

ATTITUDE: As expressed in an 800-word original essay presenting their attitude toward crash-free driving.

 

KNOWLEDGE: They will be scored in a 50-question test of driving rules, regulations, auto dynamics rules of the road, driving courtesy and the driving environment.

 

CAR CONTROL SKILLS: They will demonstrate to a panel of expert judges their ability to control themselves and their vehicles effectively, safely and successfully in close quarters and in high-pressure situations.
