The Toyota Car Control Challenge is large undertaking. In fact, at the launch of the program we can only guess at how big the task may become. But that’s OK because we have the computer to help and…we have YOU! We hope!

Who are YOU?

Well YOU might be a car person/guy/nut who loves to do anything related to cars. What could YOU do? Here’s an idea. We are going to conduct testing of up to 1000 young drivers in car control skills and crash avoidance. We’ll do the testing on training ranges (big parking lots) for some 100-150 kids each of several weekends. Somebody has to judge/measure what the drivers do in each exercise and keep score. YOU could do that.

YOU might be a law enforcement officer with a special interest in kids and their safety. YOU could help out at our testing events with site safety, perhaps making suggestions about crowd control and spectator management or just keeping things kool.. That’d be cool. Or maybe help in the testing process as well.

Maybe YOU are someone who enjoys the camaraderie of volunteer events and could help with hospitality, information for visitors, registration for the event and all the other things the people who create these events never think of until the last minute.

YOU know, YOU could be a fixer.

YOU could really help to get the word out to students all across the tri-state through the thousands of bulletin boards and local newsletters that exist for community affairs. If YOU write one, edit one, publish one or contribute to one please remember what a favor it would be if YOU happen to be the one who turned the winner’s attention to this opportunity to win $10,000 and a new Toyota.
